Personally, the Internet has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride. However, I am glad to say that I am now officially a seasoned veteran, simply because I had perseverance and commitment. The Internet is a gateway to powerful marketing, so powerful that most people can't even comprehend the enormous potential it has to market a business or opportunity. I have read all the e-books, tried all the programs, and applied all the various techniques that so many "gurus" swear by. Through all this brain sweat, I have laid out Ten Commandments that any Internet marketer MUST follow in order to succeed. The Ten Commandments are as follows:
1) As I mentioned earlier, PERSEVERANCE and COMMITMENT. It takes time and effort to build anything substantial. You have been taught that in school, don't forget it now. Commit yourself to only a few programs, otherwise you'll be jumping around with complete lack of focus, and you'll never realize the potential of any single program.
2) PERSONALIZATION!! I can't stress this enough...Did you know that using a person's name in the subject line of an ad, and then at the beginning of the body, again in the middle, and then towards the closing can have a HUGE impact on sales. The Internet has become very impersonal, especially with all the automation tools. Don't make the same mistake! Spend a little extra time personalizing and your sales WILL rise dramatically.
3) USE DISCUSSION GROUPS, NEWSGROUPS, AND FORUMS...Where do you think wealthy webmasters and super-affiliates meet to discuss their products and ideas? You guessed right, in newsgroups, discussion groups, and various forums. Please note: These places cannot be used for unsolicited advertising. You must participate in discussion, and through sharing of ideas you can really build a worthwhile contact and learn new tips and secrets. Every ISP has a newsgroup server, and yahoo has various discussion groups you can participate in. Keep in mind that you must use the appropriate and targeted group, otherwise your efforts are useless. Trust me, this technique is a goldmine and a great way to generate interested visitors, not mere traffic.
4) CONTACT YOUR PROSPECT IMMEDIATELY! Do you like to feel alone and uncared for when you join a new program? I don't think so...Don't let your prospect or sign-up feel cold and lonely, otherwise it will only be a matter of time before they drop out. Contact them immediately, build a relationship and offer help.
5) YOUR MAIN GOAL ON THE INTERNET: NEVER SEND ANYONE TO YOUR WEBSITE! You heard right, NEVER send anyone to your website, without capturing their name and email address first. This is the most common mistake made! Here's a secret, 68% of your prospects will NOT buy from you the first time! You must, and I repeat, you must capture their information, and follow-up at least seven times, because research shows that over 80% of sales are made on the fourth thru seventh follow-up. With tons of reliable autoresponders available today, there is no excuse to NOT use one. Your sales will rise by 497% with the use of autoresponders.
6) BUILD AN OPT-IN LIST...This concept ties in with the use of autoresponders. Once you capture a lead, they have become part of your opt-in list. How do you keep them interested? Well, first of all, send them some free, useful information. Don't be greedy and try to sell them something right away. First, send them some free, useful information, and then slowly solicit your ads as personal recommendations. Read articles and e-books, this will give you a lot of knowledge that you can then relay to your prospects as FREE information. Building an opt-in list should be your number one goal.
7) WRITE ARTICLES! Seriously, articles provide an AWESOME form of FREE advertising. At the end of any article you can always put a little resource box or advertisement about your product or opportunity. Imagine, if your article is picked up by just a few ezines, you have provided the most FREE and TARGETED advertising for yourself! Don't know what to write about or where to submit, read below to find out how to get more information...
8) USE TESTIMONIALS...A personal testimonial can go a long way in boosting sales, in fact, a testimonial will boost sales by 200% to 300%. Include your name, e-mail address, and phone number in the testimonial, and watch your sales soar. Give your prospect a feeling that people are ACTUALLY succeeding, and that your program is not a scam.
9) USE SPECIFIC NUMBERS IN YOUR AD AND SUBJECT LINE...What sounds better? "Make thousands in a short time!!" or "Earn $1750 in the next 2 weeks!"...Don't underestimate the use of specific numbers, by doing so you are projecting a sense of actual earnings, not just hype.
10) FORGET ABOUT "FREE-FOR-ALL(FFA)" SITES AND CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING SITES THAT ALLOW AUTOMATED SUBMISSIONS...Think about it, wouldn't the majority of people be using submitters and automation tools to submit their links and ads to these sites? Who do you think would actually VISIT the site to post? No one! Also, if these sites allow automated submissions, your ad is going to be lost with THOUSANDS of ads and then it will be removed within a few days. Pointless.
