5 Ways to Increase Traffic to your Website

Bookmark and Share

If you are like the rest of us, looking for ways to get more traffic to your website is your daily nightmare. Because lets face it, traffic is what gives us the profits we are looking for- namely more customers. Whether you are an affiliate, working jobs at home, or marketing your own product, you need contacts.

Increase Traffic #1

The first rule is to supply content that will attract your customers. That means if you are selling tropical fish accessories, don't post a blog about dog collars. This may sound absurd but sometimes our minds wander off the main subject line. You must be absolutely clear and very concise about your ad content or you will lose your customer before you have a chance to sell him on what you are offering. After all you would need a pretty small dog collar to fit on a tropical fish, unless you are selling to shark lover.

Increase Traffic #2

Give your customer the information they are looking for. The person is doing a web search for a reason, to find something, so help them out. Be as expert as possible and try to cover the items you think will help them decide to buy from you and return again.

If you are dealing with a professional group, include the facts and figures they require to make a judgment on the quality or usability of your items. If your product is technical but the offering is to the general public, offer explanations, comparable data or informational links they can compare with competitors before returning to buy from you. Again, you are looking for a return customer or at least someone to refer you to their friends or associates.

Increase Traffic #3

The links discussed in the previous notes might be set up with others in the same business as a joint venture or exchange of information. If you are linking back and forth it may be good for business by both of you. Or your unique content may appeal to their site if your products are similar or related but not exact.

Increase Traffic #4

Explore the various search engines and earn a top place ranking to guide people to your site ahead of the competition. SEO is a valuable tool to increase your traffic flow.

Increase Traffic #5

Always include your website address on all correspondence, packaging, business cards, directories, phone book ads, social sites, or anywhere it might attract people to find you.

When you get serious about a method to increase traffic to your site, be sure that you have the needed bandwidth to support the change. It would be counterproductive to increase your web traffic, only to cause your site to crash. Prepare for the new visitors, and try implementing several strategies for the best results.
