If you have ever contemplated, or currently running Adsense on your website you'll know or are about to find out that its not just a question of putting Adsens e code on your web page or pages. Oh no! There is a lot more to it than that.
We all hear a ton of talk about Keywords and Optimisation, but just what do these words mean and what is their significance in relation to Adsense?
Well, I can tell you that keywords are such a vital part of web sites and Adsense that I could point you to a thousand books and ebooks on the subject of Keywords that would have your head buzzing. Instead lets try and talk some sense.
So, just what are Keywords? Without doubt, they are the cornerstone of all good webn sites, and there are varying reports on how many Keywrods there should be on a web site. Some say no more than 20 and others advocate hundreds. So, who is right? Again there is no certainty about that. It will depend on your site, what you are selling and the context thereof.
Adsense ads bear very close relationship to the Keywords that are spread throughout your page. By that, I don't mean that your page should read "keyword, keyword, keyword" - because that will antagonise everyone and everything. You see, keywords should flow naturally within the context of the page and should NOT stand out, but be a natural part of a sentence. The other way will achieve precisely nothing!
When I first started to put Adsense ads onto my sites, my earnings were around zero. Soon after, I discovered that my Keywords were not as compatible with the content of my web site as they should be and therefore the Adsense ads were not truly relevant to the theme of the page. So here comers optimisation!
I'm sure we areall aware that there is software available that will propduce Keywords with a pay per click price tag attached. Great, - but like any business you have to buy some equipment, even if its an old computer or typewriter! You can't set up a business for nothing.
So, you've got to get the right Keywords for your site and they have to be optimised, or very closely relevant to your page/pages, and complete with what search engines are looking for.
It was when this dawned on me and I took the appropriate action, my Adsense income started to rise. So I 'optimised' all the other sites i have.
A word of warning here - There are web sites out there who are selling "Adsense ready web sites". Ostensibly, all you have to do is change the Google code for your own, upload them to the web and away you go!
Yes, I was sucked in, before I got wise and no, they don't work. I haven't had time yet to 'tweak' them, but I will now that I have the knowledge and software to do it with.
It is so easy and fast to produce your own high powered keywords, which when incorporated into your web page will produce income from Adsense and the software is not expensive for what it produces. Please bear in mind that any business requires start-up costs.
Adsense is a great income producer, but you MUST know what you're doing. Its no good diving in head first and expecting results. It requires thought, planning and proper execution, and you must constantly monitor and tweak, if necessary, to reap the full benefits of Adsense ads.
