- Is there a lot of competition in the product industry? As of 2008, there are between 3,000 and 5,000 network marketing companies in the health and wellness industry alone! That is A LOT of competition for products that most people don't truly get excited about! Now, on the other hand, the travel industry is roughly 50X larger and is virtually untapped by network marketing companies.
- Is the company heavily invested into training its reps? Many people would like to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves. Many companies just want you to pay them a fee to sign up and then require you to buy a certain amount of their product every month. As long as you keep up with their minimum purchase requirements, they're content. You need to find a company that is heavily invested in training its reps and will be there to "hold your hand" through every step in building your business.
For many years, I absolutely despised this industry completely because of the few products and people I had been exposed to. For the longest time, you could not get me to listen to anything, regardless of which company it was, after I found out that it was network marketing based.
